The safest place to sit when travelling
When people go on trips or about to embark on one, we find
ourselves in a myriad of thoughts, thoughts like; where is the safest seat in a
vehicle?, I should sit very close to the door, should anything happen I would
jump right out, I should sit behind the driver because he would most likely
protect himself and I would also partake from it, I should sit beside the
driver so if he hits the sack or I notice any imminent danger I could avert it
either by tapping him or hitting the breaks, and many more thoughts like that.
| safe seat |
It is only very human to act out of impulse or fear
especially when travelling is involved. Where I come from, if there were any
“safe seat” at all in a vehicle, that seat most definitely gonna cost more- if
the bus fare for a road trip costs $2, then that supposed “safe sit” sure gonna
cost double, after all staying alive is most important, an average Nigerian
will tell you “before I consider death at all, I must be at least 85 years
old”. There is no telling how far one would go to stay alive.
We see people reading
the news these days and stumbling upon a headline stating that there was an
accident somewhere and there was just one survivor, the first question they pop
is “where did that survivor sit?”
THE “SAFE SEAT”
| The safe seat could be anywhere |
It is better to pick your seat based on whether you prefer a
view or whether or not you have got easy access to alighting at the next stop,
rather than looking for a safe seat anywhere because there isn’t.
For what it’s worth, the likelihood of survival from an
accident is relative to the type of impact and condition.
